Junior Rifle

The Youth Program is inactive due to lack of a Youth Program Coordinator.  The program needs at least one Certified Rifle Instructor who is able to lead the program.

Junior Rifle has long been a source of great pride for the ECCL. These youngsters have competed in a very demanding program requiring concentration, skill, and perseverance beyond what is normally expected from people of this age.

The ECCL junior small-bore program (typically) begins in early June and ends in mid-August. The program teaches basic gun safety and rifle marksmanship in the standing, sitting, kneeling, and prone positions. The program is taught using the Civilian Marksmanship Program Rimfire Sporter course of fire, and the juniors have several opportunities to compete in matches during the summer. The entire team travels to Camp Perry to compete in the National Rimfire Sporter match in late July.

ECCL junior programs are open to the public and parents are not required to be members of the ECCL to participate
